In Code Green, the latest pulse-pounding installment in the Thomas Caine Thriller series, our battle-scarred protagonist finds himself thrust into a deadly chase that spans three continents. Caine must navigate the treacherous heights of Singapore's gleaming towers, survive the unforgiving jungles of Vietnam, and infiltrate the pristine facade of a Swiss castle—all while staying one step ahead of an army of killers who want him dead.
Now you can follow in Caine's footsteps with Part 2 of this exclusive location report. I hope you enjoy exploring the exciting and dangerous destinations that serve as the backdrop for Caine's most perilous mission yet…
Hanoi is the cultural, economic, and educational center of Northern Vietnam. As the country's capital, it hosts numerous foreign embassies, the headquarters of the Vietnam People's Army, its own Vietnam National University system, and many other governmental organizations. Hanoi is also a major tourist destination, whose attractions include the Imperial Citadel of Thăng Long, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, and Hoàn Kiếm Lake, where Caine encounters a team of deadly mercenaries hunting an asset he's been sent to locate.
Hanoi's urban area features a wide range of architectural styles, including French colonial architecture, brutalist apartments typical of socialist nations, and disorganized alleys and tube houses stemming from the city's rapid growth in the 20th century.
In the emerald waters of northeastern Vietnam, Hạ Long Bay—whose name means "descending dragon"—captivates visitors with thousands of limestone karsts and islets that rise from the sea like ancient guardians, earning it UNESCO World Heritage status. But beyond this stunning natural wonder lies an equally remarkable human story: the floating villages that evolved from simple fishermen's markets into complete self-sufficient communities entirely on the water. These resilient villagers created miniature societies with houses, shops, schools, and even police stations, all connected by networks of boats and houseboats tethered together for stability against the elements. And although people no longer live there full-time, the locals still carry out a lot of activities and work tasks in these remarkable villages, such as fishing, net weaving, and pearl processing.
